frequently asked questions
-
What can I expect from you as my therapist? As a therapist it’s essential to live what we teach. We take your investment seriously and do quite a bit of behind the scenes work outside of our counseling sessions so we may serve you better, including reading, learning, attending advanced trainings, gathering resources and preparing for our time together. When you enter into therapy with either of our clinicians, we commit to you. We ask you to be equally invested.

Are there other ways to be reimbursed for my therapy expenses?Yes! THRIZER MAKES REIMBURSEMENT EASY! Head over to Thrizer.com and sign up for free to get an instant benefits breakdown and easily upload your superbills. Please be sure to inform them that services will take place via Telehealth. When submitting information to an insurance company, the insurance company - not you - decides how many sessions are appropriate for your treatment and the length of those sessions. Private information shared with your insurance company may be stored in the Medical Information Bureau where it can be accessed in the future by other parties such as life insurance companies. We are happy to provide you with proof of service (Superbill) so you may recover some of your costs. Keep in mind, there are many reasons an insurance company may not reimburse for sessions that you have paid for. This may be because you do not have a diagnosis, or the diagnosis you do have is not covered. It may also be because they do not reimburse for out of network providers, or for telehealth. Reimbursement should be viewed as a bonus, not a financial necessity in order to participate in therapy.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancellation or rescheduling that is less than 24 hours' notice will be charged $125 with the card that is on file. A NO-SHOW fee of $125 will also be billed to any session that is missed without cancellation/rescheduling as well. In the case of an emergency, we may be able to reschedule your session. You will be charged the full fee of what your intensive cost is for canceled or rescheduled sessions with less than 24 hours’ notice. In the event of an unavoidable conflict or emergency we may be able to make other arrangements to avoid the cancelation fee. We reserve your appointment time just for you. By carefully limiting the number of clients we choose to work with at any given time, it allows us to serve you best.
-
Do you accept health insurance? We are currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) PPO We would be Out Of Network for any other insurance plan. However, if your insurance covers ‘out-of-network providers’ (typically PPO insurance plans) they may reimburse you for part of my fee, you may contact them to determine what the reimbursement rates on your plan are. We can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for Out Of Network reimbursement.

Do you provide a Good Faith Estimate?Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
